Raminta was a friend of a friend who we heard wanted to explore a new part of the island and get some fantastic sunrise photos. She had quite the busy schedule between her two jobs, one of which is at a restaurant and nightclub in Waikiki! One early weekend morning before sunrise we headed down the south shore to a location I had been wanting to try for a few weeks now. It faces directly east and as the red orb of the sun breached where the horizon meets the sea, we were rewarded with some pretty amazing views of new light bathing the island. The dried landscape added a surreal feel to the dawn light and as the sun began to rise higher in the sky, we headed down to a secret beach to play in the water. Here the waves were larger than anticipated as the wind whistled out of the southeast. Raminta had no worries getting right into the surf zone while I snapped away, being careful not to be caught off-guard by a slamming wave. Kelsi had made a haku (flower crown) which added to the tropical beach vibe, although was sized for her head and not Raminta's (although I quite like the outtake of her fumbling with the over-sized flowers drooping down in her face). Raminta is lovely and personable, taking her tattooed motto of 'loving the life you live' to heart and we look forward to inspiring with her again soon!
